How to Create A Productive Schedule
COVID-19
That’s what 2020 will forever be known for, outside of the BLM marches, the insane celebrity news, and the political controversies. 2020 is and will be a memorable year for me, a year that gave me time to self - reflect and figure out who I am, what I want for myself, and how I can get it.
And I realized that one of the things I needed to change was my schedule. I needed to make sure that I was being productive throughout the day, making time for the things I love, and accomplishing the goals I’ve set for myself.
So, it seemed like another perfect post back would be about getting back on track and creating a schedule that will lead to fulfillment and success. I will be walking you through my own schedule and giving you tips on how you can create your own.
I am no way of an expert, ask anybody who knows me. I am known for watching tv all day, every day, waiting until the very last minute to do things, or not doing them at all.
So, if you’re anything like me then you know how tedious that can be and the blessings you are blocking for yourself by delaying the action needed to reach your goals.
So, let’s agree that from now on, we are diving headfirst into accomplishing our goals and staying on track.
Let’s start by going over the schedule I’ve set for myself for the weekdays to give you an idea on what you can include in yours.
Tasha’s Schedule for Monday - Friday
7:00 AM-9:30 AM - I usually wake up around 7:30. I start my morning by making my bed, reading my bible plan, praying, showering, brushing teeth, taking my vitamins, getting dressed, and grabbing something to eat.
9:30AM - 5:00PM - These are my work hours. I usually start work by looking into emails, checking in for the day, looking at the calendars for any meetings/ assignments. I usually finish work before 5:30 PM.
5:00PM - 8:00PM - I usually look at my personal planner and see the items I was able to cross off during my break times during work and the things I still need to finish. I then work on those things such as writing a blog post, working on my content calendar, planning out my vlog, etc.
8:00PM - 12:30PM - I use this time to catch up on shows, movies, dishes. I also pick out clothes for the next day, review my planner, and write out my to-do list for the next day. I usually have bible study with my mom and sister during this time as well.
Now, let’s get into some tips on how you can improve your own schedules based on your own needs and wants.
Make a list of things that are the most important to you - Include things like working out, making time for your passions and hobbies, and self-care.
Time - Block - Each hour of the day should have a purpose, this will make sure you’re spending adequate time on a task, and not letting it take over your whole day.
Include something that makes you happy - Include something that makes you excited to workout, finish that work deadline, and tidy your home.
Write it down - More likely to do something if you write it down and put it somewhere you can see. I have my routines written on my refrigerator door and my work schedule on my phone notes. So I can also look at it when I need to stay on track.
Make it a HABIT - If you do this schedule every day for 21 days, it will become a habit.
I hope these tips help you turn your 2020 around because it’s never too late to start over. So start today. Make that schedule. You can always change it around if it no longer serves its purpose.
