Day In My Life | Maternity Edition
Happy Women’s History Month.
Sometimes I wonder who sat down and was like “ hey, let’s make March Women’s History Month”. Like who decides ? Nonetheless, I want to wish every woman out there a happy women’s history month and I want to personally tell you that your killing it. Whether you’re a CEO or a Waitress at Denny’s. You are doing the darn thing. And I’m proud of you.
Being a woman is..
ALOT. at times. But it’s also Powerful. Not only do we birth humans but we rule. We are the deciders. While, society might have you think that MEN are, we know better. After all, Behind every great man is an even greater woman. Or in these days, we like to say beside every great man. Same Concept. You get the gist.
So, in celebration of Woman’s History Month and the many roles we woman play from mothers to wives to bosses. We set the tone. And the best way to do that is by having a great routine that ensures we meet our goals.
So, to inspire you to look into your routine, whether to change it or to take pride in it. I will share mine, so we can all help each other out and see what it takes to be our best versions every day,
DISCLAIMER** I DO NOT DO THIS ROUTINE EVERY DAY. I HAVE MY LAZY DAYS BUT ON THE DAYS I WANT TO KILL IT. I DO THIS ROUTINE. IT SETS THE TONE & MAKES ME FEEL LIKE THE BOSS THAT I AM.
Here we go.
Tasha’s Productive Weekday Routine
4am - Yes you read that right, I’ve started waking up around 4. 5 at the latest. I usually spend a couple minutes reading my devotional, praying, making/washing bottles, loading/unloading the dishwasher, and getting ready to head to the gym for my morning HITT class.
5:30am - 6:20am HIIT Class. I’m getting better at my endurance but some days are harder than others. If I’m not doing HIIT. I’m either doing a leg or arm workout on the other days.
6:20am - 7:15am - I grab some breakfast on the way home. Is it the healthiest? NO, but does it make my heart happy? YES.
7:15am - 8:00am - I will usually make the bed, gather my clothes for the shower, and get baby boy ready for his bath.
8:00-8:30am - Bathing my precious baby boy. We have a whole routine. We bath, moisturize skin, pick boogers, trim nails, and lather hair with some hair products. If you have any suggestion on good smelling hair products for newborns. Let me know. Because the one we use is good for the hair but stinks.
8:30am - 9:00am - I shower. I try to put down baby boy for his nap before I get in but if not, he is on the bed watching tv while mommy takes the quickest shower possible.
9:00am - 5:00pm - This is the time I block out for productivity. This is when I write my blog posts, make my reels, finish any adulting tasks that I have to do. Eat lunch. Do tummy time/reading with baby boy. During this time, baby boy will have napped one more time. If he is up, and I still need to get things done. He is in his carrier or I’ll take a break. Just depends. It’s erratic, so I can’t really pinpoint what I do each hour because it depends on baby boy. Sometimes I’m working on blog posts after 5:00pm. Other times I’m done by 4:00pm.
5:00pm - 8:00pm - This is when our night routine starts. I will change baby boy into his night time onesie. I will feed him, and by now he is taking his third nap. While he is taking his third nap. I’m washing bottles/making night bottles, loading/unloading dishes, preparing his clothes for the next day, restocking, setting the bedroom up for the night. After I’m done with all that, I‘m chilling on the couch and relaxing until Hubby gets home from the gym. After the gym, we watch a couple shows together and talk.
8:00pm -10:00pm - This is when I change into night clothes, if I haven’t already. I start warming up his bottles for the night, and start transitioning baby boy from his play bouncer/bassinet/boppy to the bed. Currently, we are co-sleeping in BED. After we put him in our bed one time, he has been in there ever since. And I can’t lie. I enjoy having him there. It’s not only convenient for night time feedings but I love being able to reach out to check his heartbeat, or just to watch him sleep. I am in awe of him every night and every day. How did I get so lucky.
10:00pm - 11:00pm - Baby boy is usually knocked out by this point. I will usually go brush my teeth before bed. Some nights are better than others when it comes to brushing the pearly whites. But I do every morning… So I cut myself some slack. haha. And then I’ll spend a couple minutes scrolling through social media/tik Tok and then I’ll knock out.
Well there you go, that’s my current productive weekday routine. I tried to cater it so I can still use this routine when I go back to work. So I make sure I’m done with my morning routine by 9:00am. I’ll tweak it for days I go into the office, but for the days at home. I can use this exact routine, which is nice.
Anyway, Let me know in the comments what is one thing that you incorporate into your routine that sets you up for success?
Mine is my workout. Once I accomplish a workout. I feel unstoppable.
