5 Things To Do With Your Toddler During the Summer Months

Summer has officially arrived.

Now that my son is walking, I’m so excited to explore the city with my little one this summer. We’ve already taken him to the pool, the park, a splash pad and he has had a blast every time. Since I’m pregnant there’s only so much energy I have, so it’s been nice having family to take him on some weekends, where they’ve also done some fun things with him.

Knowing that I have a couple of more weeks with just us three before baby boy #2 comes, I want to make sure I’m spending as much time as possible with him doing fun things around the city.

So I’ve compiled a list of activities that we will be doing that are budget-friendly and toddler-friendly that will keep baby boy busy and happy.

Here we go

  • Zoo - We did take Micah to the zoo when he was five months old, but going again at 18 months should be even more fun, as he can walk around and see the animals for himself. So, we definitely want to take him to the zoo again in July.

  • Aquarium - Micah’s never been, so we got to go. He also loves all things water related, so I know he will have a blast in the water play areas they have set up for the kids. He also isn’t afraid to pet animals either, he is a real animal lover. He smiles everytime he sees a dog, a cat, you name it.

  • Painting - I really want to take him to a painting class or a craft class in general. He loves getting dirty and creative. So I’m definitely looking for places near us that have saturday painting classes, or craft classes, where he can make something from scratch.

  • KidZania, Playstreet Museum, etc - I really want to take him to all types of play areas from jungle gyms to places that have adult-like games for kids (i.e playing with fire engines, etc).

  • Sensory Activiities - Lastly, I want to do more in-door activiities with him like playing with Kinetic sand. I just want to get him used to different textures and open his mind to new things.

We are keeping it very simple this year due to the pregnancy, but I know these little activities will keep baby boy busy. If you’re like me and are trying to find some cool things to do with your kids this summer, I hope this list was helpful to you.

Let me know in the comments some more activities I should add to the list.
