4 Activities to Do with Your Kids for Halloween
The Holidays are HERE!
To think that it is October already and we are only 2 MONTHS away from 2024 is CRAZY. I can’t believe this will be our first holiday season with 2 kids. I feel like I just had my first and was celebrating all his firsts last year and here we go again with a couple more firsts to experience.
So, to bring in this amazing holiday season, I’ve decided to put together 5 annual activities that we can do with both kids to bring in the holiday season.I wanted to share the list with you to help you with your own, if you were also struggling with coming up with kid-friendly activities. These activities are specifically catered to halloween as that is the first holiday that kickstarts the holiday season into full gear.
I will be making additional posts to cater to thanksgiving and Christmas as the holidays progress. Every holiday deserves it’s own tradition, don’t ya think?
Anyway, let’s get into this list
MOVIES ON MOVIES - For the last week of October, we will be watching a new halloween movie each night to bring in the spooky holiday. Of course, the movies will be G rated for everyone and will most likely be from DISNEY. (I’m a Disney kid so of course my kids will be too). I’ve made a list of kid-friendly movies we will be watching on each day before bed, we will be drinking our favorite beverages and binging our favorite snacks while watching our flicks!
Painting pumpkins - So, I bought my toddler a finger paint set and will be going to Walmart to get some small pumpkins that they can decorate and keep in their rooms for decor!
Going to the Fair/ Pumpkin Patch/Carnival - This year, sadly we did not go to the fair as a family but my toddler was able to go with his grandparents and aunt. He had a blast and rode his very first ride. (core memory loading..). Although, we weren’t there for his first ride, we did take him to the fair last year for the first time. We love that he is able to make memories with his extended family members and build bonds. Nonetheless, I told myself this year we would DEFINITELY take him to a pumpkin patch. So my friend, Janae and I are getting our husbands and kids together this weekend and meeting at a pumpkin patch. I’m so excited for this ! And this might turn into an annual meetup with the kids, which I LOVE. Also, I’m taking the kids to a carnival that my home church is having with my friend, Jazz, next week which I’m also hoping becomes a tradition. Overall, the last week of October is about to be LIT for these two boys of mine.
Trick or Treating is a THING - Yes, We will be taking our kid trick or treating. I didn’t go as much as a kid due to religious reasons but we’ve decided to take our kids trick or treating. We feel like it’s just a fun thing to do and would love for our kid to partake in. We got him a costume, which we got for this birthday party he will be attending, but we will also have him wear it for trick or treating on halloween. I’m just too excited because this will be his first time wearing a Halloween costume and trick or treating. Subscribe to my VLOG channel to see all this cuteness.
Most of these activities are catered to my toddler, since he is of age to really partake and enjoy but his littler brother will be tagging along for all the fun! We started off the month of October with my toddler being away spending time with his aunts and grandparents, so we wanted to end of this month with some halloween fun! I hope that these suggestions for activities to do with your kids came in handy or gave you an idea of what to do next year with your bundle of joys.
Either way, I pray that you and your family enjoy a wonderful holiday with your loved ones.
Let the festivities begin!
Let me know in the comments what is your favorite thing about Halloween?
Mine is the movies and the color ORANGE. Something about Orange makes me feel warm and COZY.
