27 Lessons I've Learned in 27 Years

I’m 27.

WOW.

Only 3 years from 30. Time is flying. I’m still processing that I’m a parent of a one year old, but to think that I’m in my LATE twenties now is CRAZY. It feels surreal every year I get older to think about where I came from to where I am now. All I can do is thank GOD for the life that I have and the things I have experienced to get to this point.

To celebrate this new age, I thought it would be nice and fun to share all the lovely lessons I’ve learned over the years in hopes that these lessons can be learned earlier rather than later for you.

Let’s get started,

  1. Your past shouldn’t define you and you shouldn’t let it.

  2. Spend as much time as possible with the people you love

  3. Stop rushing to get to the next stage, enjoy the stage you’re in because one day you’re going to miss the benefits of the stage that you’re in right now.

  4. Grass is always greener, remember that

  5. Your life is your own, figure out what you want to do with it.

  6. Let those friends go… no need to chase people who clearly don’t want you

  7. Spend your money wisely, if you don’t know how to, please don’t get a credit card

  8. Save as much as you can

  9. Eat food that fuels your soul

  10. Make the first move, never know what will come from it

  11. Apply to jobs you wouldn’t mind working.

  12. Money is nice but if you hate your job, it will only keep you happy temporarily

  13. Go to church

  14. Read the Bible

  15. Join a life group

  16. Listen to music that makes you feel good

  17. Don’t use the term friend so loosely, if there is no reciprocation, that’s no friendship

  18. Date, it’s fun.

  19. Travel and experience the world around you

  20. Make time for those who make time for you

  21. Don’t doubt your abilities.

  22. Stop listening or caring about what others think about you

  23. Be the best mom you can be

  24. Do what makes you happy

  25. Speak up. If you don’t you can only be mad at yourself

  26. Make self-care mandatory in your life

  27. Listen to your gut.

Let me know a couple of lessons you’ve learned in the comments below.
